"As sweet as Tupelo Honey" ~ Van Morrison
Tupelo Honey (one of the rarest honeys in the world due to the short bloom season) is like no other. Buttery and floral; it's almost as if you can taste the Tupelo flower. Van Morrison may have helped introduce people to Tupelo Honey, but it is most famous for it's delicious taste.
Hailing from Apalachicola, the Tupelo Tree, which only grows in the swamps of Northwest Florida, blooms every April for 1-3 weeks tops.
Bear Hug Tidbit: Tupelo Honey is one of the very few honeys that never crystalizes. This is due to the higher fructose to glucose / sucrose content of the nectar of the Tupelo Flower.
